Day 1: Arrival & Wetland Wonders – Colombo to Muthurajawela Sanctuary

• Warm welcome at airport by Hemantha Travel & Tours
• Travel to Muthurajawela Wetlands near Negombo
• Evening boat safari through mangroves – spot kingfishers, water monitors,
  and rare birds
• Check-in at eco-lodge or nature resort
• Overnight stay in Negombo

Day 2: Elephants of Pinnawala
& Wild Kandy

• Visit Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage or Millennium Elephant Foundation
• Continue to Kandy, surrounded by rainforest and hills
• Optional bird-watching walk near Udawatta Kele Sanctuary
• Evening free or visit to Temple of the Tooth (if desired)
• Overnight stay in Kandy

Day 3: Knuckles Forest Trek
& Mountain Wildlife

• Full-day guided hike in the Knuckles Mountain Range (UNESCO Biosphere Reserve)
• See waterfalls, wild orchids, monkeys, and endemic birdlife
• Picnic lunch in the forest
• Return to Kandy or stay overnight in Knuckles eco-cabins (optional)

Day 4: Into the Highlands – Kandy
to Nuwara Eliya via Horton Plains

• Early transfer to Horton Plains National Park
• Trek to World’s End cliff & Baker’s Falls – see sambar deer, mongoose, and rare lizards
• Continue to Nuwara Eliya – the “Little England” of Sri Lanka
• Check-in at colonial hotel or boutique guesthouse
• Overnight stay in Nuwara Eliya

Day 5: Leopards & Lagoons – Transfer
to Yala National Park

• Scenic drive through Ella to Yala National Park
• Evening at leisure in luxury safari lodge or glamping site
• Enjoy a jungle BBQ dinner or a fire-lit nature talk

Day 6: The Big Game Safari –
Yala National Park

• Early morning Jeep Safari in Yala – Sri Lanka’s best park for leopard
  sightings
• Also spot elephants, sloth bears, crocodiles, and exotic birds
• Optional second safari in the afternoon or visit nearby Kataragama Temple
• Overnight stay near Yala

Day 7: Whales & Waves – Yala
to Mirissa

• Transfer to Mirissa, a coastal paradise
• Optional: Afternoon beach time or visit Rekawa Turtle Conservation project

Day 8: Ocean Giants &
Departure

• Early morning Whale Watching Tour (Dec–Apr: blue whales, sperm whales, dolphins)
